Catching The Next Affiliate Big Wave

Do you ever get frustrated because you are missing out on all those new
Internet Marketing products that are stuffed into your email box every few
weeks? I know I do. They come in waves don?t they? As a Newbie I see these
offers and my mind starts racing, and my legs start spinning -but I?m going nowhere fast. I?m just not prepared for them and don?t have any system in place to take advantage of them. I end up buying them off the smart guys out their who have got their act together. It is definitely the quick and the dead and I?m the latter.

It?s time to take control - I say!
Wouldn?t it be nice if you have your systems in place ready for the next Big Affiliate Wave? Whether you?re surfing for the next Google Cash Detective Mark II, a DayJobMassacre or a CMSInfusionForTheMasses. I realised that most of the time there is only a small window of opportunity to make the easy money on these programs. Now as more and more people look to the Internet for income it can only get harder. So what do we do?

If only I could have an Affiliate Marketing Surfing System that would:

Surf for the next successful Affiliate Product Wave before most people know about them.
Find Affiliate Programs that are well designed with all the necessary Sales Material.
Make it easy and quick to create the initial Affiliate Landing or Squeeze Pages.
Have the ability to capture names and email addresses so I can build my ?List?.
Protect my Affiliate links for fraud.

That should give me half a chance.

But the Dreaded ?Lists? are waiting out there in the Deep Water!
There is one thing missing - I need to get traffic to my landing page fast! As a Newbie with no ?List? the only way I know to get traffic fast is to use Google Adwords. In 15 minutes they say I can have people clicking away at my Ads and going to my Landing Page. But can I do it well enough and fast enough to compete with the ?Lists? - those Internet Marketers with huge mailing lists. These guys can be on the beach (Mexico maybe and teaching a young mexican girl how to make her first millon!) with their wireless notebooks and just press a key to release a 100,000 emails to their ?List?. At 2% conversion that?s immediately 2,000 potential sales before they finish their drink! Now let?s say they get 50% of a $197.00 product. They pocket $197,000.00 (assuming no fees or charges) while I?m still figuring out my Keyword Ad Groups! Doesn?t it make you want to go out and shoot somebody? - I don?t mean that literally. But you get the picture.

What Can We do to level the Playing Field
We can automate - that?s what we can do. There are new leading edge programs being released everyday that can speed up labour intensive tasks like creating tightly grouped AdWord Keywords. There are programs out there now that can take Landing Pages from an Affiliate program and multiply it for as many keywords as you want to enter. Each Landing page is carefully created to match the keyword the potential purchaser entered in the Google Search box. All these highly targeted and optimised Keywords, Ad Groups and Landing Pages helps get a high Google Quality Score and thus reduce the cost of your Ads. This means you can stay in the game longer - hopefully long enough to get some sales and get critical mass. Reducing the cost of your Ads can dramatically increase your profitability on any Affiliate Program.

But now we have another problem
How do we manage all those Adword Groups and Keywords? You see we need to
monitor them constantly to weed out those keywords that are not working and maximise our opportunity with the keywords that are making us money. Would you believe there is software that can do that for you too and reduce your Adword costs automatically, while you sleep.

What about my competitors you may well ask
Well your competitors can be spied upon. I don?t know for how long because
there is at least one program that claims it can stop the spying. But whilst we can do it, we can take a look at their Adword Keywords and their Ads and ?steal? what works for them and make it our own.

My Affiliate Surfing System to Catch the Next Wave
My system will comprise an affiliate surfing program to find potentially
profitable affiliate programs quickly. It will include the ability to create masses of tightly knit keywords for many Ad Groups within hours of selecting the affiliate program. Landing Pages would be created on the fly for all the Keywords and all uploaded to my hosting account and ready to go. I will use a program to automatically monitor my keywords and remove bad ones and maximise the potential of the good ones. I?m also going to keep an eye on my competitors to stay ahead of the game if I can.

So it seems I can create a system that will allow me to catch the next
Affiliate Wave and ride it all the way to the Bank. And I am going to try. If you want to take a look at how I?m going to do it go to my Blog and watch my progress (or otherwise). I am starting this week with my first affiliate product. I?ll write up my progess on my Blog http://www.startherewebsites.com.

A Blog?

When I first heard about blogs I asked many times “What the heck is a blog?”. I even created an account in Blogger. I did not had any idea on how to start. Now, after all these years finally realized what is a blog. You will be calling me a “blogger” pretty soon. Searching around for more info, I came about with this definition for Blog from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

“A blog is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) or sexual in nature (Adult blog), and are part of a wider network of social media.”

There are many blog styles and the list below is just a sampling. Basically anything you are interested someone is blogging about it.

Personal Blogs
Political Blogs
Hobby Logs

There are many websites that list different blogs. Many bloggers have to submit their blog. Once they do they add a link to the site on their blog. Just do a search in any of your preferred search engines and see the amount of blog directories available.

My findings

As I learn more and more about blogging, more fascinated I become with it. It is a wonderful tool! Just discovered one more way to publish to my blog, Anyone Can Do It. I am using Firefox as my default browser and one of the addons in it is called ScribeFire, by Christopher Finke. It completely integrates with the browser. You can drag and drop from pages you are browsing and later port them to your blog. This is a great an easy way to publish anything you have in mind. I know that there are other options, but for now I stick to this one.

Here are some examples.

The History Of Podcasting

What we know as a podcast had its beginnings in the creation of MP3 files that could be downloaded and played on the iPod device developed by Apple Computer. The release of the iPod encouraged people to share their music with others. They then realized that they could create, upload, and download information other than music. Some iPod users reverse engineered the device and loaded various types of firmware or operating system software. Other users decided that they would share sound files to be played on the iPod, since the technology for distributing such files already existed. RSS feeds provide a way to generate machine-readable files, which could then share data between servers and users. Many blogs used RSS to keep their readers up to date on blog posts. Some visionary podcasters realized that they could enclose links to sound files inside the RSS feed and download these files to a computer.

The iPod podcast became increasingly popular as this change in RSS feeds was implemented. Podcasting became a common way to share files, and users began to view podcasting as a way to become, essentially, radio-show hosts or DJs. Then software was developed that would automatically check the RSS feeds, extract links to podcast episodes, and download the files. This software is called a podcast client.

By the time all this was happening, podcasting had expanded far beyond Apple’s iPod device. Developers had even discovered ways to use PlayStation Portable gaming systems as a podcast player. While this was more difficult than downloading a podcast to an iPod because of PSP’s different file format, more PSP podcasts began appearing on the Internet. Podcasting also expanded into use by individuals who didn’t have iPods, but who viewed podcasting as a very convenient technology for receiving news, music, and entertainment over the Internet.

Now, iPod podcasting remains in use, but fewer people subscribe to podcasts in order to get portable media files. This still represents an attractive feature of podcasting, but it is overshadowed by the use of podcasting as a content delivery system. Podcasting is currently associated with a large and growing number of audio and video blogs, for example. With these offerings, content is not delivered via posting, but through media files that are uploaded to the blog. These types of blogs, and podcasting in general, benefit from the constantly decreasing cost of broadband Internet connections and the growing number of people who have high-speed access to rich online content that includes multimedia files.

You Can Have Web 2.0 Success Using Blogs

The rise and rise of blogging as part of the web 2.0 phenomenon has taken the Internet by storm. Savvy web marketers are now using blogs as an additional weapon to generate leads, add credibility and improve their search engine rankings. Here are six reasons why you should consider blogging.
Blogging is great fun! Yes, blogging can be great fun. Just open you posting window and go for it without the restrictions of corporate style guides and other impediments to creativity. Got something to say? Just say it. The other fun aspect of blogging is that people can post comments about your blog posts. You posts plus reader comments all become valuable food for the search engines.
Blogging is dirt cheap. The most powerful blogging systems are free. Wordpress seems to be the blogging standard and now comes standard with many cheap web hosting packages. For less than $100 per year anyone can get their own domain with blogging included.

I wouldn’t use one of the free blogging services unless you are really desperate. You can’t be sure if they will always remain free and your posts will be building up someone else’ asset rather than your own.
Blogging is fast and easy. If you can use notepad you can blog. The user interface is very intuitive and allows you to add and edit, text, pictures, videos, whatever you want. Want to change the look and layout of your blog? There’s literally hundreds of themes available that take less than a minute to upload and install.
Blogging gives you products and services personality. People like to do business with people they like. By blogging you show your target market that there is a real person behind the company you represent. By reading you blog posts that get an idea of what you’re all about - warts and all. The personal aspect of blogging is one of it’s most powerful characteristics.
Your blog becomes another Internet asset. Some blog sites get thousands and thousands of readers each day. This traffic can be converted to hard, cold cash through Google Adsense advertising, affiliate programs and straight advertising space sale. Once you blog increases it’s Google PageRank, you also get the benefit of linking out from your blog site to other web sites you want to promote.
Search engines just love blogs. It is said in many SEO forums that Google staff are great bloggers and subsequently Google spiders and indexes blogs more frequently that normal web sites. This may just be a rumor, but I have found it to be true in my case. If you blog every day there’s a good chance Google and the other major search engines will spider your blog every day looking for that new content.
Convinced? Give blogging a try. There’s stacks of free resources listed in article directories like this one that will help you get into blogging.
